Privacy Policy — Sootpaw
Sootpaw ("the app", "we") is developed by Roman Dolgov, operating as Thumb Cult Studio. This policy describes what data the app collects and why.
1. Your cat's photo
When you photograph or select a photo of your cat, the app reads that photo entirely on your device to guess your cat's coat coloring for the kitten in the game. The photo is never sent anywhere — it is not uploaded to our servers or to any third party, and it stays on your phone.
2. Analytics
We use GameAnalytics to understand how the game is played (which levels are reached, whether the game crashes, and similar gameplay events) so we can fix problems and improve the game. This uses a device identifier, not your name or any personal account. We do not use your device's advertising ID for this.
3. Advertising
The app shows optional short video ads (to open an extra shelf space) and occasional ads between rooms, through Unity LevelPlay, which may work with other advertising partners. These partners may use your device's advertising ID to show and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, UK and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any ad-related data processing begins, through Google's User Messaging Platform. The app does not currently have an in-app settings screen to revisit that choice — uninstalling and reinstalling the app will show the consent prompt again.
4. Notifications
If you allow it, the app sends one local reminder notification. This notification is generated and shown entirely on your device — nothing is sent to us to make it happen.
5. What we don't collect
We do not collect your name (the name you give your in-game kitten stays on your device), your location, your contacts, or any other personal information beyond what's described above.
6. Children
Sootpaw is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from children in a manner inconsistent with applicable law.
7. Your choices
You can decline the photo feature entirely and still play the full game with a default kitten appearance. You can decline ad consent where asked. You can uninstall the app at any time, which removes all data stored on your device.
8. Third-party services
- GameAnalytics: gameanalytics.com/privacy-policy
- Unity LevelPlay / ironSource: unity.com/legal/game-player-and-app-user-privacy-policy (and, for ironSource's own still-live legacy policy: ironSource Privacy Policy)
- Google AdMob / User Messaging Platform: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Each of these companies' own privacy policy governs what they do with data once it reaches them; the sections above describe what we send and why.

10. Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
